Roksan Kohen Parfitt - Postcards from the Future Remembering the future In this interactive public installation, festival visitors are invited to create a postcard from a future they hope to live in. What does an earthbound fantasy look like? Perhaps it holds clean oceans, thriving ecosystems, joyful elders, vibrant communities, enough for everyone, and a culture that no longer revolves around wanting more. Through drawing, painting, writing, and collage, participants can express visions, wishes, memories from the future, and imagination. Each postcard becomes part of a growing collective artwork: a wall of future messages created by the community. At the end of the festival, participants may take a postcard home as a reminder that the future is not only something that happens to us—it is something we can imagine, shape, and practice together.

Russell Gendron - The MillThe Mill (2024) is a multimedia investigation into the decline of forestry in British Columbia. Through sound-art, oral history and memory quilting The Mill uses restoration as a method of examination into how the processes of industry have impacted individuals, communities and the environment.

danielle Mackenzie Long - Rewiring a BodyRewiring a Body is a CRT TV looping video installation featuring multiple excerpts and fragments of varied lengths from two animated short films, A Suspension of Electrical Silk (1) and opaqueREFUSALS (2). Each of these films explore how alternative imaginings and presentations of a “body” are able to move and dance, using personalized motion capture data of a non-binary dance artist's choreographed movement.
