Active / Passive Performance Society Presents
A Special Screening of 1996 Documentary
MICROCOSMOSWith live score featuring:
El Ángel Exterminador & Magazinist
Join us for our community screening of Microcosmos directed by Claude Nuridsany and Marie Pérennou. Released in 1996, Microcosmos is a documentary of insect life using incredible close-ups, slow motion, and time-lapse photography. Think Animal Planet meets Jurassic Park meets Honey I Shrunk the Kids! Our electronic orchestra will play a brand new, semi-improvised live score alongside the original french narration (with subtitles). The movie is appropriate for all ages, and kids are welcomed (and free!). We’ll be serving soup and snacks, including popcorn and candy. Stick around for a casual reception and music after the film.
No one turned away for lack of funds. Please reach out to activepassiveconcerts@gmail.com if you are looking for an advance ticket at a discounted rate. The best way to attend for free is to volunteer!
This event is presented with gratitude on the unceded stolen traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwlitsum and other Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island, lands for which these peoples have been stewards since time immemorial.
